  • How do I find my tyre size?

    If you don’t know your tyre size you can check your vehicles handbook which should include the correct tyre size. If you don’t have this on hand then the easiest way is to check the sidewall of your current tyres which will contain a number pattern, similar to 205 / 55 R16 91V. This breaks down as;

    • 205 – The width of your tyre in millimetres
    • 55 – The height of your sidewall as a percentage
    • R16 – Diameter of your tyres inner rim
    • 91 – Load rating of your tyre
    • V – Speed rating which suggests the maximum speed when your vehicle is fully loaded.
  • How can I tell if my tyres need replacing?

The first thing you will notice is the handling and performance of your vehicle will start to suffer. It may not be gripping the road as much as you’re used to, it isn’t handling changes in the weather and it’s taking longer to stop when breaking which is clearly an issue for any motorist.

As well as a noticeable drop in performance you can also check the thread depth which will have worn away through usage. Simply place 20p in the main thread of your tyre and if it covers the border of the coin you should be okay, if you can see the border however you may need to change tyres. If you’re unsure you can always pop down and see us where one of our team offer a free, no obligation tyre check.

  • Can you change tyres for motorhomes/caravans?

Of course! Caravan tyres are just as susceptible to wear and tear. If your caravan or motorhome needs its tyres replacing you can always get in touch with our team to book a tyre change over.

  • How do I know if I need wheel alignment?

There are some noticeable signs that could indicate a misalignment. Here are some common signs that you are dealing with wheels with poor alignment:

    • The vehicle pulling to the left or right
    • Uneven wear on one or both edge of tyre’s
    • Your steering wheel is crooked when driving straight
    • Squealing tyre’s

Went here after kwik fit told me I needed a new steel wheel without removing it from my car. They fixed my wheel without needing to replace it. An amazing price with amazing service.

What a pleasant surprise to find a tyre shop that fits them properly, burnished rims for a good seal, used a torque wrench to tighten wheel nuts properly, friendly professional service and a brilliant price, I’ll be back

Really impressed with the service I received today! Went with the intention of buying 4 new tyres to be told I only needed two and a repair on the third. Previously been told by another company a repair wasn’t possible. Would definitely recommend.

They are brilliant and truthful. We went because we thought we needed two new tyres. The gentleman checked and told us our tyres were fine. We will definitely be using this business again. Because they are honest, reliable and competitive.
