Engine Carbon Clean
What is carbon cleaning?
As many motorists will know, after a couple of years or 20,000+ miles, the performance of the engine will start to deteriorate. This results in slightly slower speed, increased fuel consumption, decreased acceleration and the ride doesn’t feel as smooth.
By cleaning the inside of your vehicle’s engine, we can remove carbon and increase your engine’s performance whilst lowering your carbon footprint all at the same time. Think of this as a detox but for your car, removing all the leftover soot and helping prevent further damage.
A Diesel Particular Filter (DPf for short) is a device attached to your exhaust system of all modern diesel vehicles. Its purpose is to collect soot and diesel particles from exhaust systems and cleaning them as they pass to better improve our environment, lowering carbon emissions.
As with most forms of filters, they need a good clean and regularly to ensure optimal performance. DPF and measuring emissions from vehicles is the most common reason for failing an MOT.
Fixing the issue
You don’t need to replace your DPF system if it fails an MOT. With both the right diagnostic tools and expertise, we can give you an honest service to ensure your vehicle never fails when it comes to carbon emissions.
Once diagnosed we flush your system with special chemicals and cleaning products, removing the soot deposits. All this is performed whilst the engine is running so there’s no dismantling of parts and is a pretty simple process for us to perform.
